Bario Food Yard is looking for a Cook!

Bario Food Yard is all about creating outstanding experiences for our guests in the heart of Otrobanda, Curaçao. We offer a diverse range of delicious, fresh, and locally-sourced dishes in a lively and welcoming atmosphere. At Bario, we celebrate the rich culinary heritage of Curaçao while embracing contemporary food trends. We are looking for a talented cook who’s full of energy, strong in communication and of course, knows how to impress our guests with flavors they won’t forget!

Your Main Responsibility

As a Cook, your number one priority is ensuring the highest quality, taste, and presentation of all dishes,

while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations. You are responsible for preparing, cooking, and

presenting dishes according to the standards of the restaurant.

● Creating an excellent guest experience by topnotch presentation of our dishes and high-quality

and efficient service.

● Ensuring food safety standards and hygiene guidelines of the highest standards.

● Collaborating and effectively communicating with all team members (kitchen, bar, serving, and

hotel personnel). We are one strong team and we support each other to create the best guest

experiences possible and contribute to a nice vibe in the team.

● Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.

● Managing the inventory and reporting orders to the Chef.

● Innovating and testing new and creative new dishes.

● Developing and suggesting creative and innovative new recipes or cooking methods.

What you already bring to the table

● 3 - 5 years of experience as an independent Cook in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

● Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and procedures.

● Fluent in Papiamentu and English.

● Proficient in Dutch and Spanish.

● Providing great service is second nature to you.

● You are strong in communication and a true team player.

● You can work under pressure and are able to multitask and prioritize tasks.

● You have a total football mindset, doing everything to create an excellent guest experience.
